diffidently need two people to put this machine together, very heavy duty machine. Yes the wedge splitter does stop about 100mm from end, but no problems there with an other log for packing. Splits big logs real well. Petrol motor seems to do its own thing ( revs when you turn it down it keeps revving ). But apart from that little problem with the motor, price and they way it is built. Good machine. Make sure if you are getting it delivered you have some way of handling it ( fork lift ). The guys and girls at BBT where great to deal with. Don't forget you need to also by engine oil and hydraulic oil as well . cheers Happy Log Splitting

I brought a 40Ton log splitter would be nice if the assembly instructions where appropriate for this particular item instead of an amend manual for another / smaller splitter .
This is definitely a 2x man job to put together as it is extremely heavy

Surprised initially when it arrived in a crate the size of a coffin. Had to unpack box whilst on truck as we did not have a forklift or the man power to lift if off in one go. Instructions for assembly were easy to understand, but had to wait a week before trialling as our hardware store does not hold 20 litres of hydraulic fluid. Engine ticked over on first go and has been working like a charm ever since. Very happy with the machine and its capabilities. You will not be disappointed.

This is a really well made product and to date has not found a log to stop it. If it has one shortcoming it would be that the splitting head stops too far short of the base (150mm) and so you are often required to tear or kick the final fragments of the log apart.

I have used the 40 ton log splitter for 2 hours straight, and very impressed with it. It does the size wood that it states it would do, and I must say with ease. Well worth the money

A well built log splitter ,have done about 5 hours work on it and found it a fast and powerful tool to work with. The only fault it has, as mentioned in another review is that the cutting wedge stops at around 100mm or more from the backrest.Because of this every now and then a log wont break right off. Easily fixed by packing the backrest with a piece of flat timber.

Very sturdy . Extremely knotty blocks are no problem . Although the stroke is a bit short but easily fixed with another steel plate . Starts first pull .. definitely recommend this machine

After assembling the machine I was keen to try it on some really tough curly grain blocks I have. I am pleased to say the machine stood up to the effort more than I expected, Made the job much easier. The machine looks good and is well made. I am very happy with it.
