Early days but so far so good. Engineering is better than the earlier models I have used. Splits really dry hardwood no probs. I dont need a longer stroke but if the splitter came up to the stop just a bit closer I would not have to tear off the splits on green woolybutt. But its no biggey.
Diesel is a tad loud for the neighbours but to hell with those snowflakes, this is country life and this splitter did in two days what used to take me two weeks.
So yeah, it works fine. I may add an after market hydraulic oil filter if I can find one. I think its a good idea to have one.
Will the engine hold up long term ? I guess thats my only concern but what the hey, i can always run it off the tractor hydraulics if it shits itself.

Just began using my new 40T Diesel log splitter today, but first I had the exhaust directed 90 degrees as otherwise its straight into your face, kinda strange.
Without too much effort that was completed and off I went, the machine runs great and its no problem with the hardest knurled stringy and iron barks. Splits easily even at a nice low to medium rev range.
One of the other reviews commented on the actual travel of the ram, yes it could probably do with another 100mm or so.
That aside very happy and impressed so far.

Good product easy to assemble, very powerful splits knots in wood no problems, it does need the stroke to be longer though to make it a really great product, that aside I am very happy with the log splitter.

I had a few minor issues early on after I assembled the unit, however the guys at BBTA were able to help me and get me going. The Diesel engine is a bit louder than I had expected but it does have the grunt to split very difficult logs. Also I would have preferred a swivel jockey wheel rather than the cheap version, but all-in-all it is very good value for money.

We put it together immediately and tried it out, very impressed. Very well built and solid. Better than we thought. The customer service was top rate also. Will certainly recommend to others.

I have found that this product to be great in the performance/power side of things and sturdy also there are 3 things I'm not happy with and they are the advertised stroke compared to the actual stroke of the cylinder when at full stroke cutting wedge stops 90mm short so if there is a short log being split it's not going to do it I ended up making a rod extension 90mm
2nd is the exhaust if 2 people are using one on either side the exhaust fumes are an issue so I have made additional exhaust to exhaust vertically much better than towards the back getting the operators
3rd oil capacity is to small for extended usage can only operate for roughly an hour before oil becomes to hot but overall a very powerful piece of equipment
