Picked splitter up myself from BBT's Showroom as I live 3 + hours away & due to the weight of the item, it was cheaper for me to pick it up as I have a ute. Staff could not have been more helpful & all aspects were explained to me with no tendency at all to rush at all. When we arrived home to Cootamundra needed 4 strong helpers to unload the unit. Put some fuel in, followed starting procedure & it went first turn of the key. Put a good number of 'cranky' grain Yellow Box, Grey Box & Red Gum logs through about 400 long & 350 wide & it just 'smashed' them, not even any attempt to stall or slow at all....very impressive! I am only a 'backyarder' & this unit is problem a bit of overkill but I have no hesitation in recommending this splitter. Only small issue was during travel with the wind blowing through the unit, the material sheathing on the hydraulic hoses all split & frayed. Probably should have covered the splitter for transporting however they do seem a little flimsy. I have purchased 6 or maybe 7 items from BBTs over the years & have never had a problem with any of them & they are all still performing really well. These people are 'THE REAL DEAL'. Thanks heaps to everyone at BBT

Easy to assemble , started without much fuss and powered through some snarly test pieces that I had not been able to do with a block splitter . Knocked off about 3/4 of a Ute load of wood in about an hour and wasn’t out of fuel only out of wood !!

Great product for a reasonable price.
It is self explanatory but would have been nice to know you are on the right track.
There were also some bolts missing from my back and then extras of other bolts.
The engine starts well and runs smoothly.
I would recommend you buy your hydraulic oil from from BBT as I found nowhere local to stock the recommended oils.
Overall I can recommend it and it splits wood much better than swinging an axe

Once all was set up with oils and petrol, 95 ron minimum, it was all sweet sailing. I've been trying to wittle down a 2ft Blackbutt log for a couple of seasons using only my old trusty axe, (it was a case of "you not beating me ever", but I only ever seemed to "take off" a sliver or two each season - not any more. that stubborn bit of log no longer exists. The BBT 40T literally tore it apart with such ease, ultimately, leaving me without a challenge this comming winter. There are, however, a couple design faults thou, (i) tow bar is not long enough becaiuse you cannot see the machine whilst reversing once it is hooked up to the farm truck. (ii) wheel covers vibrate (don't matter how tight the screws), so left mine off. I am reasonably certain that there may be more issues after splitting much more than the tonne I have processed in the 3 days of unpacking my new BBToy.

The BBT 40t splitter came in a metal tube crate with a cardboard cover. Assembly was quite simple no reading of instructions was required. Three bolts were missing, which once assembled only left the red material tray to attach. Connecting the hydraulic hoses was self explanatory. The machine was filled with hydraulic oil, engine oil for the engine and fuel for the engine. The supplied battery was charged overnight and the wiring connected from the battery to the starter. The engine started on second attempt. The splitter was test run after assembly prior to being put into service.
The first service day. The machine started with out drama, engine speed was set to about 1/2 max engine speed and started splitting logs. The maximum log diameter split on the first job was 350mm dia freshly cut green timber hardwood. In total about 1000kg timber split on the first job. Used about 1/3 tank of fuel and the machine hardly even changed not when splitting. There will be much more loading of the machine on dry seasoned hardwood, however the first job it was noted how easily this first timber job was split. With two people working, one just splitting and the second removing the split timber and collecting new logs to split the machine kept up. The 1000kg of timber was split in under two hours. So far good machine

I started to look around who had what for sale and I ended up with the BBT splitter for several reasons ,
the 1st was the write up at FleeBay , here everything was explained the way it should no other sellers had anything like this
http://www.ebay.com.au/gds/How-powerful-is-a-electric-log-splitter-/10000000011015992/g.html
2nd , dont be afraid to deal , I did and ended up with fitting and oils for free
With this said this 40T splitter is a beast after a few hours with it, you should go over all the hoses again and nip them up after that she is all play.
I got my splitter beginning of June and have since split around 60T of wood , you name it it will go through it like a hot knife through butter , I mostly run it on 1/2 throttle and only needed to up the throttle when I was going through a tough knotted seasoned tree fork , you know that really wavey knotted red Gum type.
There is nothing that this splitter wont split and I have no hesitation of recommending a BBT unit , with super friendly staff that actually answer and return your calls
Thats about it the unit performs as a good splitter should without the huge price tag , even the 15hp JD engine surprised me just how good it is 10/10 on this splitter
Cheers Marty
